the word ‘fun‘ seems fitting to describe being surrounded by hundreds of deer, watching a huge bonfire ceremony, and stomping around universal studios. that is of course when the three biggest rides are actually operating, there isn't cues for days and it isn't absolutely freezing. not that i'm complaining. I'm not (i am). even with these elements in play, osaka and nara can really turn it on. especially when they've got groups of spidermen on the loose.
Japan
koyasan & kyoto
mt. koya (or koyasan) and kyoto are places very close to my heart and high on my list of places to visit again and again. i have shared some pretty magical times there - with special friends in kyoto jazz bars, riding along river canals and up cable cars, but koyasan is also where i got engaged (so kawaii).
nagano
I wouldn't say i'm a foreigner to snow. we've had some nice minimal encounters here and there. but the winter wonderland found in the prefecture of nagano, japan are second to none. monkeys that bathe in hot springs, snow ball fights outside self-contained winter cottages, frosty windows while reading by fireplaces, and stuffing my face with tasty ramen really is a sweet type of paradise.
